When foreign-language newcomers from outside the European Union look for work in Flanders, they have the greatest chance of success in West Flanders.
So does Haider Kahleel (40), an asylum seeker from Iraq, who in no time at all has made himself indispensable at the Typhoon dedusting company in Beveren-Leie. "It's simple," says his employer. "If we don't employ him, we don't have anyone."
