PU panel extraction

Typhoon installed a new dust extraction installation for a manufacturer of insulation products and concepts based on closed-cell polyurethane foam.

The products are used in insulated roof elements, floor slabs and wall insulation. The customer is part of a Belgian group that has a strong European dimension, with more than 100 branches spread over 27 countries.

To adapt an existing production line, they chose a collaboration with Typhoon for supply and installation of the industrial dust extraction system. Typhoon was also responsible for the electrical connections and automation of these installations. The whole system meets the current ATEX standards. In order to provide extra security, Typhoon also installed and connected an automatic spark detection system with an extinguishing system.

The installation consists of a negatively pressurised JET filter Ø 5m for a total capacity of 96,000 m³/h, to which one fan is connected with a total power of 200 kW. The collected dust is blown to an existing silo via a pneumatic conveyor. One part of the extracted air contains ribbons that come from cutting off the edges.
This airflow is diverted via a dynamic condenser, where we can separate the ribbons from the airflow. These ribbons are reduced by a breaker installation at the bottom of the dynamic condenser.
